About the Specialist: Jean-Baptiste Bacquart
After graduating from the Sorbonne and the Ecole du Louvre in Paris, Jean-Baptiste Bacquart worked at Sothebys until 2000 where he was the head of the Tribal Art Department. He then wrote the acclaimed book "The Tribal Arts of Africa" which is now in its third reprint.
He now runs his own gallery in London specialising in African and Oceanic Art, also working as a freelance consultant in the field and undertaking valuations for private clients.  In June, he joined Auction Atrium as Tribal Art specialist and he will be holding regular auctions covering all aspects of the field.
